Michael joined Stichter, Riedel, Blain & Postler, P.A. in 2009 and became a shareholder with the firm in 2013. Mr. Bachman handles bankruptcy matters and commercial transactions at the firm, specializing in commercial real estate transactions.
He regularly represents debtors, creditors, purchasers and other parties in bankruptcy cases and complex out-of-court workouts and debt restructurings and represents individual and corporate clients in all aspects of purchase, sale, leasing and financing transactions. Mr. Bachman advises both buyers and sellers in the purchase and sale of operating companies and other assets both in and out of bankruptcy cases. He leads firm efforts in title, survey and zoning due diligence with respect to commercial real estate acquisitions and is a title agent for several national title insurance companies.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Bachman concentrated his practice in the areas of transactional real estate law and commercial lending work. He represented institutional lenders in the negotiation and documentation of loan transactions, including construction, permanent and mezzanine lending, asset-based financing, loan workouts and restructuring debt obligations. Mr. Bachman also represented commercial real estate developers in connection with their acquisition, development, financing, and disposition of real property for office, hotel, retail, residential, condominium and mixed use projects.
Mr. Bachman is a 1999 Honors graduate of Florida State University with a B.S. in Business Management and a Minor in English. Mr. Bachman received his J.D., cum laude, in 2005 from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While in law school, Mr. Bachman was a member of the Senior Editorial Board of the University of Florida Journal of Technology Law and Policy and was a member of Phi Delta Phi.
