Stephen R. Leslie, head of the Firm’s Southwest Florida insolvency and restructuring practice, was presented with the 2016 Alexander L. Paskay Professionalism Award at this year’s annual Southwest Florida Bankruptcy Professionals Association dinner. The award is given based upon the exemplification, over a period of years, of traits including outstanding effectiveness in the presentation of matters to the Bankruptcy Court and professionalism in dealings with the Court, counsel, and the parties. The award is named in honor of Judge Alexander L. Paskay, who served as a bankruptcy referee and judge for almost fifty years, including twenty as the Chief Judge of the Middle District of Florida. Judge Paskay presided over the Bankruptcy Court in Ft. Myers for more than forty years from its inception until his retirement. The Southwest Florida Bankruptcy Professionals Association is a voluntary group of attorneys, judges, paralegals, financial advisors, trustees, and others interested in the fair and efficient administration of justice in the Ft. Myers Bankruptcy Court. Stichter Riedel maintains an office in Ft. Myers. In addition to his active Southwest Florida practice, Mr. Leslie represents parties in bankruptcy and insolvency matters throughout the State of Florida.
