On September 4, 2014, the honorable Michael G. Williamson of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division, entered an order granting a joint motion for dismissal filed by the Villas at Spring Hill, LLC and its principal secured creditor, Bank of America. The Chapter 11 case was filed after years of contentious litigation in state court over Bank of America’s claim, which exceeded $17 million. The structured dismissal followed a global resolution and settlement of all pending litigation between the Villas at Spring Hill, LLC and its non-debtor guarantors and Bank of America. The Court also approved the post-dismissal actions identified in and required by the joint motion. Stichter Riedel served as general counsel for the Debtor, and Susan H. Sharp led the firm’s representation.
