On May 13, 2016, the firm filed a Chapter 11 petition for Len-Tran, Inc. d/b/a Turner Tree & Landscaping, Inc., a Florida company that provides comprehensive, full-service landscaping installation to its customers in both the residential and commercial arenas in the Manatee and Bradenton areas, as well as throughout Florida. On November 14, 2016, the Honorable Michael Williamson of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida confirmed the Chapter 11 Plan of Len-Tran involving over $5 million in claims. An integral part of the plan is the sale of the Debtor’s business assets to a purchaser who retained Len-Tran’s employees, which closing took place on November 29, 2016, and a sale of the Debtor’s real estate, which is scheduled to take place no later than January 17, 2016. The Plan provided for the resolution of bank debt secured by 590 acres of real property in Manatee County, Florida and Patrick County, Virginia and four separate lawsuits filed by the bank prior to the Chapter 11 filing. The firm’s representation was headed by Elena Paras Ketchum, Amy Denton Harris, and Michael Bachman.
