Biography

Christopher Meyer concentrates his practice on bankruptcy and insolvency issues. He has extensive experience in workouts, restructurings and bankruptcy reorganizations including representing both debtors and creditors in commercial cases. Chris also has experience in general real estate and commercial lending and in troubled loan issues.

Chris’s experience includes representing debtors and creditors in Chapter 11 reorganization cases, secured creditors in loan workouts and parties proposing acquisitions and other business transactions with troubled businesses.

Chris is a member of a number of professional associations and organizations. He is a member of the American Bar Association and its Business Bankruptcy Committee. Chris is also a past member, treasurer and trustee of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and a past member and chair of its Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section. He is a Fellow and Past Chair of the American College of Bankruptcy, a past director of the College’s Foundation and past chair of the College’s Board of Regents. In addition, Chris is a past president and trustee of the Turnaround Management Association’s Northeast Ohio Chapter. In 2011, Chris received the Chapter’s inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award.  He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). For more than 10 years, Chris served as an adjunct professor of law at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He is also a past trustee of the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland, and a past trustee and board president of the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center.
